Lead Services Update

Bright Beginnings supports families by helping to reduce the impact of lead on their children’s health and development. Starting in 2026, there will be a change in the work Bright Beginnings has done with children ages 3 years to 5 years through the Parent Support Lead Program. The Better Health Partnership Pathways HUB (BHP) will now facilitate referrals to agencies in Cuyahoga County that employ community Health workers (CHWs). These CHWs will provide services to families with children ages 3-6 who have elevated blood lead levels of 3.5 or higher. This new service replaces the Bright Beginnings Parent Support Lead Program.

Bright Beginnings will continue to provide services for children with elevated blood lead levels ages birth to 3 through Help Me Grow Early Intervention.

We thank Cuyahoga County and the Office of Early Childhood/Invest in Children for supporting the pilot of these services, and we thank Better Health Partnership for collaborating with Bright Beginnings to ensure that families with preschool age children impacted by lead continue to get the services and support they deserve.
